I’m a software designer and business analyst with an undergraduateĀ computer science background and a talent for figuringĀ out the complex business logic required to provide a simple and elegant user experience when working in a complex domain. I also have a special fondness for information design. My professional experience has included business analysis, product design, product management, agile product ownership, consulting, data analysis, logical data modeling, and content strategy.
I spent the last decade or so at Wireless Generation and its successor Amplify Education, working on systems supporting and linking K-12 assessment, reporting, and instruction. Along the way I acquired considerable expertise in many related matters, including the Common Core State Standards in math and ELA/Literacy, a number of assessments including PARCC and Smarter Balanced, and assessment data and psychometrics generally.
My personal interests include hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities, board games, cooking, and mixology. Recently, inspired by this information visualization, I spent a year mixing my way through the entire “official cocktails” list of the International Bartenders’ Association.
